LEVEL ONE

The relationship between the therapist and the client is dynamic and complex. It is one of the few relationships which requires the professional to have a keen sense of self and other (the client) simultaneously.

This four day intensive is designed to aid the therapist in honing his/her skills of assessment of the unconscious, connection with self, connection with the client and intervention when working with clients.

During this workshop you will learn:

• About cutting edge research and brain function
• How to assess the unconscious needs of the client
• How to identify unconscious feelings within the therapeutic room
• How to relate/intervene consciously to the unconsciousness within the therapeutic relationship
• The language of the unconscious

Who should attend?

People who work with clients in a professional capacity where there is a therapeutic process.

Those who wish to improve their level of competency as a therapist or for the betterment of self.

(All participants must be considered emotionally stable, as there is an experiential component to this retreat).

About Dr. Pickett: Dr. Pickett is a registered clinical psychologist in Ontario with over 30 years of experience. She has extensive experience working with mental health issues including working in adult psychiatric units, correctional facilities, and children's mental health centres. She has consulted to numerous agencies on psychological issues and is a competent supervisor of mental health professionals.

Certificate of 24 hours for continuing education is provided.
